THE DESIGN PROCESS
When requiring a custom tattoo you will have to book in advance. Firstly a consultation appointment is made and we get down all your ideas, take tracings and sometimes take photos. You will need to bring in all your reference material and we will go over all aspects of the design you are wanting, size, placement, style, colour or greywash. We will make suggestions to help you get the best tattoo possible.
If you’re getting a cover up then photos and a tracing will be taken of your old tattoo so when we are putting your design together we will know exactly what will cover it and what wont.
A $50 drawing fee is charged for large custom pieces.
Your design may take up to 2 weeks to be completed, depending on size and detail. We do quite a lot of custom designs and others may be in front of yours.
Once your design is ready you will need to come in and see if you are happy with your design or if any changes need to be made. From here we make a booking to have your tattoo done.
A $50 deposit is required to secure your appointment, this comes off the price of your tattoo upon completion.
If you have your own design and don’t require many changes or if you are wanting some script then you only need to pay the $50 inc GST booking deposit and this will come off the price of your tattoo upon completion.
For phone bookings we will require a bank transfer for the $50 inc GST booking deposit. Please remember it takes 3 working days for this to clear so if your appointment is earlier than that you may be required to drop the deposit in to the studio for your booking to be secured.

Sit back and relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or a soft drink. We have movies or games to play to take your mind off things and numbing spray is available upon request.
If you are requiring a touch up once the tattoo is healed, we will guarantee our tattoos for up to 3 months. This is a free service if it is done within the 3 month period. We do not cover hand and feet tattoos as they are around 90% likely to drop out within a short amount of time. You will be warned of this and if you decide to go ahead and then require a touch up, a minimum fee of $80 will be charged hand and feet tattoos, a minimum fee of $80 will be charged for hand and feet tattoos.
The tattooing area is a clean, sterile environment. Everything used during the tattooing process is wrapped and we use disposable needles and grips to avoid cross contamination and hygiene issues. Our staff are certified in the safe practice of skin penetration procedures and sterilizing techniques and the studio has been checked and cleared with the Health Department.
The tattooing process usually starts with the application of the stencil. This can be applied several times until you and your artist are completely satisfied with the placement. The stencil is then left to dry for 5-10 minutes. Once the stencil is completely dry it is time to get comfortable ready for the tattooing process to begin. We generally start with the outline and this can take anything from a few minutes to several hours depending on the size and detail of your tattoo design.
The first 10 minutes are said to be the most uncomfortable until your endorphins flood the body directly from the brain in response to the pain caused by the needles. . These chemicals produced in the pituitary gland are our natural pain relievers and the effect from the endorphins can last for several hours. Depending on the size of your tattoo, several sessions may be required to complete your tattoo. The first session being outline followed by one or more sessions of shade and colour or if you feel comfortable after the outline you can continue and complete your tattoo. We do recommend limiting your tattoo session to no more than 6 hours at a time .
At the end of your session your new tattoo will be cleaned and wrapped ready for your journey home. You will be given after-care advice and this commences as soon as you get home and remove the dressing. Once healed, approximately 1-2 weeks, feel free to pop back into the studio where we can determine whether a touch up is required. If you have any concerns about your tattoo don’t hesitate in contacting us, we are here to answer any questions you may have.
